March: Beers, Boards, and Bath Salts

March 05, 2017
03/05/2017

Happy March, Canada!

This month we have many amazing events and workshops lined up at our shop in Hintonburg.

We're excited to host a new workshop with the incredibly playful Brenda Dunn from Art In Jest. Brenda will be in our shop teaching us how to turn reclaimed and live edge wood into food-safe serving platters.

That's right, DIY cheeseboards!

This workshop is open to all ages, but any children should come with a parent. Click here to join us on Thursday, March 23rd from 6:30-8:30pm.

We will also be turning our shop into one giant bathtub, as we host a Make Your Own Bath Salts workshop. Join us for this DIY workshop hosted by Zoe's Corner where you will pick your own raw materials and essential oils before creating the most relaxing and rejuvenating bath salts ever!

We'll be having two sessions on Sunday, March 26th at 1pm-2:30pm and 3pm-4:30pm. It's only $26 with supplies included, but limited spots available so sign-up soon.

Enjoy free beer? Well then come and Learn the Craft!

This month our friends at Brew Donkey (known for awesome craft brewery tours) will continue their "Head of the Glass" educational events in the store.

During this three hour event, you will be able to sample two local breweries (Big Rig and Brown Van) and learn behind-the-scenes stories about how contract brewing is changing the fast-growing craft beer industry in Canada.

The event is free, so just drop into Maker House Co. between 6-9pm on Friday, March 10th. An RSVP on Facebook beforehand would be loved though!

We'll also be staying open late on March 10th so you can browse the work of more than 100 Canadian artisans while learning about the craft beer industry.

Calling all Makers: CRAFTFEST 2017!

We are co-producing this 15-day festival of Made-in-Canada goodness and want you (yes, you!) to showcase your work.

Until March 15th, we will be taking applications from Canadian makers to participate in CRAFTFEST 2017!

Check out how you can participate or partner as a made-in-Canada vendor at www.CRAFT-FEST.ca and follow us @makerhouseco.

This well-crafted birthday party for Canada's 150th starts with The Brewery Market, on Sunday, June 11th and runs until Sunday, June 25th.

Our POPUP SHOP will be open for all 15-days. There will also be open-air WEEKEND MARKETS and DIY WORKSHOPS to enjoy as part of the festival.

Thanks again for reading the blog and stay tuned for more details!

If you want advanced notice of all our events and workshops, please sign up for our monthly fun list :)
