Contemporary craft for people and the planet by Markus Melcher. Markus Melcher is a multi-disciplinary designer based in Ottawa, Ontario. Originally from Austria, Markus created the brand ‘heim’, which means ‘home’ in German. Heim brings together Markus’ professional work experience in Industrial design and his passion for creating products that are sustainable, accessible, and functional by design.Heim creates unique 3D-printed products that focus on aesthetics, affordability and environmental responsibility.

These designs include innovative planters, vases and lighting products made from sustainable and partially recycled corn-based bioplastics. The purpose of Heim is to create sustainable household products that are affordable by design and produced locally.
