Exchange & Return Policy

At Maker House Co., we want you to be completely happy with your purchase. Please review the following guidelines for returns and exchanges.

All returns and exchanges must be made at our Hintonburg location: 987 Wellington St. West, Ottawa Ontario, Canada.


In-Store & Curbside Pickup Purchases

  • Most regular-priced merchandise in unused, unworn, and unwashed condition, with original tags, labels, or packaging, may be returned within 30 days of purchase for either an exchange or refund.

  • Refunds can only be issued to the original purchaser using the original payment method (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, Debit, or Cash).

  • Gift recipients are eligible for an exchange or store credit, but not a refund.

  • Proof of purchase is required for all returns and exchanges. This can be your emailed receipt or your order number.

  • Refunds can take up to 15 business days to be reflected on your account, depending on your bank or provider.


Online Shipping Purchases

  • Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of the order date for exchange or store credit only (no refunds).

  • Items must be in original, unused condition with packaging and tags intact.

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Maker House Co. is not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments, so we recommend using a trackable shipping method and purchasing insurance.

  • Maker House Co. will cover the cost of shipping for the replacement order to the same address as the original order.

  • Proof of purchase is required for all returns. This can be your emailed receipt or your order number.

  • Refunds can take up to 15 business days to be reflected on your account, depending on your bank or provider.

Local Delivery

  • Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of the order date for an exchange or refund (to the original purchaser).

  • Items must be in original, unused condition with packaging and tags intact.

  • Customers are responsible for return delivery costs. Maker House Co. is not responsible for lost or damaged return deliveries.

  • Maker House Co. will cover the cost of delivery for the replacement order.

  • Proof of purchase is required for all returns. This can be your emailed receipt or your order number.

  • Refunds can take up to 15 business days to be reflected on your account, depending on your bank or provider.

Final Sale Items

The following items are not eligible for return or exchange:

  • Dated items (e.g. calendars, ornaments)

  • Perishable items (e.g. food, plants)

  • Pre-made gift boxes

  • Discounted or sale items

  • Custom furniture

  • Bulk orders or back orders of items not normally stocked in-store


Damaged or Defective Items

If an item arrives damaged or is found to be defective, please contact us as soon as possible. We require:

  • Photos of the outer shipping packaging and the damaged/defective product

  • Your order number or proof of purchase. This can be your emailed receipt or your order number.

We will review your claim and, at our discretion, arrange for a repair, replacement, exchange, or refund, and follow up with the courier company if applicable.
