Mélodie Falardeau is the founder and maker of Wakefield Candle Co. (WCC). She is passionate about all things vintage, her dog Victor, making candles and loves the region where she lives. Originally working in the hospitality industry, she started a project called Ambiance Botanique by Melo as a side hustle. During her time at her other company, she acquired a wealth of knowledge about candle making.
In the middle of working on other projects, Melo suddenly had an « aha » moment on how to share Wakefield with everybody. And as a result, Wakefield Candle Collective was born.
We believe everyone should have access to products that are 100% unique, high quality, and sustainable. Each Wakefield Candle is made with 100% soy wax, the finest wooden wicks, and all of our custom scents are inspired and blended with this little village and the nature around it in mind. We hand-pour all of our products in small batches using glass jars then label them with original artwork inspired by our beautiful village. Our candles are made with love and care to be shared with you and others. Think of these candles as an experience or an adventure waiting for you.

With notes of cypress, cedar, bayberry and moss, this candle smells like lush greenery, conifers, moss and fresh air, exactly like the forest during summer months. Close your eyes and let the aromas transport you to your favourite wild sanctuary. Complete with wooden wicks!
Hand poured soy wax, 8 oz, 40-50 hour burn time.
Tips:
The first burn is the most important.
When lighting your candle for the first time, make sure you wait until the wax has melted evenly across the candle. By ensuring the whole surface has melted before you extinguish your candle, you'll avoid tunneling and help your candle last longer.
Burn your candle for 3-4 hours at a time.
While you may want to burn your candle all day long, to ensure your candle lasts as long as it can (40-50 hours), make sure you don't burn it for longer than 3-4 hours at a time. However, if you do choose to burn it for longer than that per session, all that means is you'll get to buy a fresh candle a bit sooner.
Trim your wicks.
Before re-lighting your candle, make sure you trim it to a 1/4 inch to ensure the smoothest possible burn.
