Wakefield Candle Co Meet the Maker: Wakefield Candle Co
$29.99
With notes of cypress, cedar, bayberry and moss, this candle smells like lush greenery, conifers, moss and fresh air, exactly like the forest during summer months. Close your eyes and let the aromas transport you to your favourite wild sanctuary. Complete with wooden wicks!
Hand poured soy wax, 8 oz, 40-50 hour burn time.
Tips:
The first burn is the most important.
When lighting your candle for the first time, make sure you wait until the wax has melted evenly across the candle. By ensuring the whole surface has melted before you extinguish your candle, you'll avoid tunneling and help your candle last longer.
Burn your candle for 3-4 hours at a time.
While you may want to burn your candle all day long, to ensure your candle lasts as long as it can (40-50 hours), make sure you don't burn it for longer than 3-4 hours at a time. However, if you do choose to burn it for longer than that per session, all that means is you'll get to buy a fresh candle a bit sooner.
Trim your wicks.
Before re-lighting your candle, make sure you trim it to a 1/4 inch to ensure the smoothest possible burn.

Wear a piece of Canadian (and Ottawa) history!
The copper used for the maple leaf is the original copper which covered the roofs of Canada's Parliament Buildings from 1918 to 1996. Wear it proudly on your lapel or backpack. Measures approx. 3 cm.
This brooch is available on gold plated or pewter backing.
As these are handmade and made from recycled roofing, unique marks will appear on the copper of each pin.
Why don’t they come in red?
We get this question all the time! The rich patina on these pieces comes from decades of natural oxidation while the copper roof covered Canada’s Parliament Buildings for 78 years. Rather than altering this historic material, Under One Roof preserves its authentic character—keeping the same aged copper that has witnessed some of Canada’s most important moments. That means no artificial colouring, just genuine history in every piece. Enjoy this one-of-a-kind connection to Canada’s past!
Because this item is handcrafted, slight variations are to be expected and admired.
Sold individually.
Made by Under One Roof - a social enterprise in Ottawa, Ontario. Every item was crafted with the participation of persons with developmental disabilities.

The elusive House Hippo has been one of the most desired creatures for Canadian kids since the early 1990's and now you can finally own one!
House Hippos are notoriously shy and nocturnal and are good at taking care of themselves. They love to munch on potato chips (because who doesn't?) and forage for crumbs and bits of dropped food. Keeping cozy is a top priority so they tend to build themselves little nests made up of lint, fuzzy scraps and odd socks. In the wild hippos are notoriously aggressive but House Hippos are docile around humans. When placed on a bedside table they make excellent defenders against anything that makes strange sounds at night.
Confident Beginner and recommend it for ages 12 and up. Each kit envelope contains step-by-step photo illustrated instructions, paper pattern pieces, colour info care card, sheets of wool blend felt, pair of 7mm safety eyes, embroidery floss, needle and pins.
Stuffing is not included as the finished piece is easy to stuff using scraps of felt or fabric cut into small bits, cotton balls as well as traditional stuffing. It also helps keep the shipping cost much lower as it can travel Canada Post letter mail.
Not recommended for small children.
Finished Size: approx. 5" x 3" (13cm x 8cm)
