There is something mesmerizing about a lighthouse highlighted against the sea and sky. The rocky coastline of Nova Scotia is dotted with these traditional beacons of both light and warning —at once they say “welcome home” and “watch for rocks”. Either way, they are classic seaside protectors. Except for the tiny little flag, this pattern is made entirely of the easiest single stitch and backstitch. And you know, that blue backstitch around the outside of the satin stitch looks great and hides any imperfections, so you look like a pro no matter what!
Your friends and family will undoubtedly be very impressed by your finished creation. Be prepared for adulation - and possibly a little envy too. (You deserve it!)

These little Northern Owls can't wait to roost in your house. Burrowing owls live in burrows in the ground and are active during the day. A true rebel of the owl family, it's also one of the most endangered birds in western Canada.
This kit has lots of satin stitches so it will take a little longer to stitch up than the other kits we carry from Hook, Line and Tinker, making it a perfect activity for those long winter evenings.

This copper pin is available on gold-plated or pewter backing.

The elusive House Hippo has been one of the most desired creatures for Canadian kids since the early 1990's and now you can finally own one!
House Hippos are notoriously shy and nocturnal and are good at taking care of themselves. They love to munch on potato chips (because who doesn't?) and forage for crumbs and bits of dropped food. Keeping cozy is a top priority so they tend to build themselves little nests made up of lint, fuzzy scraps and odd socks. In the wild hippos are notoriously aggressive but House Hippos are docile around humans. When placed on a bedside table they make excellent defenders against anything that makes strange sounds at night.
Confident Beginner and recommend it for ages 12 and up. Each kit envelope contains step-by-step photo illustrated instructions, paper pattern pieces, colour info care card, sheets of wool blend felt, pair of 7mm safety eyes, embroidery floss, needle and pins.
Stuffing is not included as the finished piece is easy to stuff using scraps of felt or fabric cut into small bits, cotton balls as well as traditional stuffing. It also helps keep the shipping cost much lower as it can travel Canada Post letter mail.
Not recommended for small children.
