Founded by Jerry and Rosemary Thorpe, Thorpe Toys is a family-run Canadian business that has been making high-quality wooden toys for over 30 years. These toys go beyond play, they also teach kids skills like hand-eye coordination to scientific principles.
All Thorpe toys are hand-crafted in Waterloo, Ontario from their own, original designs and are meant to last generations.

Wooden Balloon Boat

This Balloon Boat is perfect for bath-time. A wonderful alternative to plastic bathtub toys, the durable and solid design of the Balloon Boat means it will keep on floating and is ready for years of play.
So simple to use, just blow the balloon up through the exhaust jet at the back of the boat. Block the exhaust jet with your finger, put the boat in the water and watch it zip across the water like a jet boat!
Comes with a post to attach a bowline to secure the boat (or to pull it back from the far end of the tub or pull it back to you if you are playing in open water)
Want a different balloon colour, shape or size, no problem. You can replace the included balloon with any balloon with a standard-sized opening. It's fun to see how far the boat will go with different sizes of balloons.
The Balloon Boat comes in unfinished wood with no paint, stains or toxic finish. Just leave it to dry on the side of the tub when bath time is done.

Wooden Ball and Bat Game

Get the ball through the hole. A classic game of skill based on the traditional game of Bilboquet.
It looks simple enough: pick up the paddle, gently swing the ball in an arc and have it fall through the hole in the other end of the paddle.
However, it is a great test of hand-eye coordination. It takes much more subtlety than is anticipated. After you practice for a while you can definitely get it in the hole much more often.
Makes a great party favour, desk toy or stocking stuffer.
