This abundance of nutritious and energizing herbs are the perfect way to start your day or come alive in the sleepy afternoon with a delicious minty cup.
Several of the herbs used in Awakening Tea have been traditionally used in herbal medicine to aid digestion.
Teas in the Algonquin Collection include local herbs and plants that are natural to the Algonquin bioregion - ethically wild harvested, hand picked and certified organic.
A convenient box of 16 bags of hand-picked tea (18g).
Art work on the box by artist Ritchie ‘Stardreamer’ Sinclair who apprenticed with Norval Morrisseau, and is considered a master painter and a Canadian treasure.
General brewing instructions: Heat water to 180-185F/82-85C. Steep for at least 3 minutes. May be rebrewed for 2 to 3 infusions. Do not exceed three teabags per day. Sweeten if desired. Wait 30 minutes between cups. Contraindications listed below.
Gourmet Hints: Delicious iced, with lemon and honey.
Taste: Medium-full body, sweet minty with plenty of soft herbaceous notes. Complex and fresh.
Properties: Iron, vitamins A, B complex, C, D, E and K, magnesium, calcium, potassium.
If using medicinally, recommended dose: One tea bag in 150 to 200 ml of water, do not exceed three teabags per day. Wait 30 minutes between cups.
Ingredients: Labrador tea, nettle, peppermint, alfalfa, astragalus, angelica, spearmint, ginseng.

Contraindications:
- Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Do not use if you have a history of systemic lupus erythematosus. Do not use if you have allergies to acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or other salicylates.
- Discontinue use if headache, drowsiness, heavy perspiration, muscle spasms, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea occur.
