This gift box has been lovingly curated to showcase some of the talented Indigenous makers that we are proud to have in our Maker House family.
Our store in Ottawa is located on traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin-Anishinaabe people. We want to build stronger connections and support our neighbours, both artists and members of Indigenous communities, across Canada and Turtle Island.
Each maker and charity partner was consulted about this project. They even helped us name it proudly the Native Land Gift Box. Inside you will find more information about the featured makers and organizations.
Included in this gift box you will find:
Maker House is proud to donate 100% of sales from this gift box to the following Indigenous organizations:
Donations will be made twice a year, on June 21st (National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada) and September 30th (Orange Shirt Day).
Thank you for supporting these incredible Indigenous makers and helping us raise money for these important community organizations!

A message from Peace By Chocolate:
"Our family knows firsthand how it is to live through war and we will do everything we can to help those who are forced to experience it. It is something indescribable that we would not wish upon anyone, so every day we do our best to promote peace here in Canada and throughout the world.
Effective immediately, all proceeds (profit after cost) from our Peace Bars will be donated to the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal established by the Canadian Red Cross.
Take a moment, in your own way, to think about and send warmth to the people of Ukraine. No one chooses to leave home, lose everything and become a refugee. It is not a choice or a life goal."
Maker House also stands with the people of Ukraine. We will also donate $4 from every bar sold to organizations providing humanitarian support in Ukraine. Combined with what PBC is donating, that means over 50% of each bar sold will go to help people in Ukraine.
