Hand Thrown Pottery
While travelling across Canada and working at a variety of jobs, James Brown kept telling himself that he would return to his first love – making pottery. From high school, he was accepted into the ceramics program at Sheridan College’s School Of Design Campus in Mississauga. After a year of college, he traveled twice across Canada, and returned to work in ceramics in the commercial industry.
In 1990, James moved back to Muskoka and began to live his dream. John Brown, James’ brother joined the business soon after, and has trained as the pottery technician. Now Muskoka Bay Pottery is well known as the place to find one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts and mementos.
