Orange Shirt Society Meet the Maker: Orange Shirt Society
$19.99
Wear your orange shirt in remembrance and respect to honour and support the students and survivors of Canada's Residential School system, and pay respects to those who did not make it.
The Orange Shirt Society's 2024 Every Child Matters design features artwork by Aliyah Bautista, a Grade 11 student from Ponoka, Alberta. Her design includes a central child figure representing the "I" in "child" and is intended to honor those who died or are healing from residential schools, emphasizing that all children matter. The design also serves as a reminder of the impacts of residential schools on families and cultures.
Maker House is also proud to donate 50% of the sales from these shirts to Indigenous communities and organizations through our #CraftChange Program. We have raised over $20,000 through 2024 and currently donate to the Orange Shirt Society and the First Nations Child & Family Caring Society. Watch our Instagram for donation updates in June for Indigenous Peoples Month, and again on September 30th for Truth & Reconciliation Day.
