This spring, some stuff "May" be happening at our cozy little shop in Hintonburg, so you're going to want to read this post.

First and foremost, our website is officially one week old (we're so happy!) and we're still celebrating with special deals online. Check out our On Sale Section to get the inside scoop on over 20 new sale products just added this month.

While browsing the sales, make sure to check out the Meet the Makers section on our website for profiles on the artisans making our goods and full listings of their products.

Then, swing by our Instagram Shop to easily find items that we've posted recently. This page has been a huge hit so far, so let us know what you think! Don't forget to give us a follow, too.

Moving on to events! It's time for us all to warm up by the fire together - the proverbial fire of course - so come by our store on May 5 to have some cocktails and ice-cream with our friend (and local historian) Andrew King, as he captivates us yet again with spooky stories of Hintonburg's past.

The night-time event will include free samples of Merry Dairy Ice Cream (roasted marshmallow, mmmm!), and some warm-weather inspired Split Tree Cocktail samples. There will also be live music, because it can't be a campfire party without campfire songs!

This Around the Campfire event was one of our most popular events of 2016, so we're hoping for another awesome time this year. The event is taking place during The Happening in Hintonburg, which runs from May 3rd-6th in our neighbourhood and will provide you with tons of fun stuff to do. Click here to RSVP.

For all of you bath bomb lovers out there, you're going to want to book off Sunday, May 7 as we're hosting another Build Your Own Bath Bomb workshop! From 1-2:30pm and then 3-4:30pm, Zoe from Zoe's Corner will be teaching us how to create bath bombs with all natural ingredients. Cost is only $30 and the workshop is suitable for all skill levels. Plus, with all materials (including your choice of scents and add-ins) being included, the end result could be a great handmade gift for Mother's Day.

And finally, the biggest event of the year is almost upon us. We can't wait to take over Albert Island right on the Ottawa River and showcase more than 150 Canadian makers at CRAFTFEST 2017!

It all starts with The Brewery Market on Sunday, June 11. Then, for 15 days, you can visit our POPUP SHOP for fresh new Canadian handmade brands, along with 4 days of WEEKEND MARKETS, and over 15 DIY WORKSHOPS.

The festival ends with BUY CANADIAN DAY across Ottawa on Sunday, June 25th, which Maker House is organizing in partnership with Ottawa 2017 and various BIA's. Follow CRAFTFEST 2017 on Instagram, and watch for things to heat up this May as we celebrate the ultimate (well-crafted) birthday party for Canada's 150th!

Until next time!
