Guys, we've been featured in the New York Times!
The world's most influential newspaper wrote an awesome profile about our great city and just so happened to mention Maker House Co. as one of the coolest shops to check out (along with our neighbours Tooth & Nail!). This comes right after the New York Times called Canada the must-visit country for 2017.
We know...this is amazing! We still can't believe it happened.
We had a hunch that something was going to be published about Ottawa, as we had met a photographer from the New York Times in December. However, we had no idea we were going to be featured in the article like this.
Thinking back to the opening of our little pop-up shop just 14-months ago, it's hard to imagine that we would wake up one morning to see our name printed in the New York Times!
We want to thank everyone who has supported us over the last year and who has promoted us either in person by word of mouth or via social media. Clearly, your words and encouragement are the reason journalists seek us out to write about us.
If you haven't seen the article, you can either read it online (it's free) or pop by our shop at 987 Wellington St. West to see the framed version (which we have been proudly showing since the story hit the press).
Here's to a very happy 150th birthday to our country and to an awesome summer for our city!
Cheers,
